It was the best of times, it was the worst of times...

So, this morning at 6am, I was lying awake nursing Annalise. It was a peaceful moment when all of a sudden we hear a "bzzz brrrm gachow wrrrrrrn" and then silence. What was that sound? That was the sound of our power going out. The a/c? Gone. Lights. EVERYTHING.
As I do in times like this, I turned to Trendon. Since he was sleeping, I had to yell and hit him with the Boppy. He got up and went outside to check the circuit breaker. (Yep, ours is outside because this house was built in the 60s).
No dice. Circuits were fine. And because it's a Sunday, there was no one in the community office. Tren called Facilities Management, the Power Plant, and even talked to one of our neighbors. Alas, no one had power. So, at around 7:25am I coaxed Annalise back to sleep. Tren had, of course, already gone back to sleep.
She woke up around 8:45am.
We decided to head out. We had some things to return to Wal-Mart. With the new money we bought some organizational items for my scrapbooking madness. (As well as a onesie for Annalise....I mean...c'mon..it say's "Mommy's Little Love Bug" and it has a ladybug. Worth the $3.00? I think so.)
We also stopped by the commissary where SEVEN people stopped to comment on what a pretty baby she is.

Once we got home, SWEET ELECTRICITY. She nursed to sleep. She was in dire need of a nap. Tren played Oblivion and I watched.
What did Tren find on the stairs once Annalise had awoken? Why, a dead bird, of course.
What the crap? How did we not see one of the cats bring a freaking DEAD BIRD in the house? Ewwww. Needless to say, the stairs have been drenched in Lysol.
Oh, and our freaking DVR is broken. Dish Network is sending us a new one.

On the up side? I made a FANTASTIC lemon pound cake. Trendon grilled some of the best food ever. Annalise is loving solids. She's eaten a 1/2 cup of applesauce today. I don't know if I've mentioned, but I make her food. It's just easier for me. Steam, puree, feed. Very easy.

We're under a Tornado watch, all hell is about to break loose outside.

Can I just mention some of the things I  absolutely love?
1) When I'm lying in bed nursing Annalise to sleep, she holds onto my shirt and throws her leg up over me.
2) How she munches on her index finger instead of her thumb.
3) How she likes to be startled.
....this will have to wait. She is freaking out with Tren and needs to get to sleep.

  1. Well, I'm glad your electricity came back on, and hope that it didn't go back out with all of your crazy weather there. I also hope that it is all better weather there last night, I checked your weather on and off all night! I'm glad she is loving her solid foods.
    You're a great mom!
