I love my child.

I think Annalise is shaping up to be a lot like her mother. It's not her fault, I'm her everyday companion. I remember when I was little, I would go into my bedroom and emerge swathed in a feather boa, wearing a pair of my mother's high heels, and carrying a purse filled with random things and I would ask mom how I looked. She would, of course, say "Stunning."
Annalise has started going into her room and putting on random things. She found her rain hat and she's been wearing that A LOT along with some necklace's she got from her Grandma Laura for christmas. Also, she'll bring me all the hair accessories she can find and wants me to put them in her hair, take a picture, and then show her the picture while she's pulling them out of her hair.
She is just cracking me up.

I guess I should also mention that Annalise got a tattoo. Nothing major, just a sacred heart chest piece. What can I say? My daughter is pretty hardcore.
I put the tattoo on her after her bath. Once she saw it on her, she started laughing and gave me a big kiss. She'll point to my chest and then to hers. She's tickled that we (sort of) match.

And this is what she does when I tell her to be "punk rock."

Kelley, I read your blog, and then I look at mine, and I laugh and am in awe of the fact that we can be such good friends and have such similar parenting philosophies while having such COMPLETELY different styles.

And in conclusion...
I am SICK of snow when I have no snow clothes and we have 2 feet headed this way.

  1. Your daughter is so hardcore-- her first tattoo before she's old enough for kindergarten!

    I miss you guys!

  2. You are so right-- it is incredible how alike, yet how different we are-- and how alike Hudson and Annalise are--- won't it be fun that they will have enough in common to be good friends, but different enough to be interesting?

Love the punk rock face, I'll have to get a pic of Hudson doing his "bass face" (bass as in bass guitar, not fish)...
